Vibrant Coastal & Tropical Artwork by Florida Artist, Kelly Tracht
Originally trained as an architect at the University of Florida, Tracht graduated with honors and won a merit based scholarship to earn her Masters of Architecture at Miami University (of Ohio). Her love of painting began early and was ignited when she studied in northern Italy where she was exposed to the works of the Renaissance Masters such as Michaelangelo and Raffaello. Studying in Europe gave her access to the great museums of the world where she would spend many hours drawing first hand from the master works and trained in their classical techniques. She then went on to pursue landscape painting in the Caribbean Islands, and started to develop her colorful, nature inspired aesthetic.
As a Floridian, her love of color and nature continue to influence her work. She has created a highly saturated, iconic style she calls “Painterly Modernism” which recalls her influences such as John Singer Sargent, Henri Matisse and Georgia O’Keeffe.
In addition to originals, her work is now available in the form of Limited Edition Paper Prints, Gicleés on Canvas as well as on fabric and decorative pillows. A native of the gulf coast of Florida, Tracht now lives and works in Jupiter, FL.
